🫘 Week 70: Spilled Beans!
Our May event is OUT!
Good morning, Cool Beans!
How are you? Honestly, we’re a bit stuck obsessing over this weather in the worst wait. It’s just feels too cold for May and we’re really not loving it. On the bright side though, we just posted our May event and it’s already almost sold out, which is kind of wild (in the best way). So at least something is going in the right direction!

🤤 If you are craving something new: Thanks to Adam's recommendation, we finally tried 4 Letter Word Coffee in Logan Square. Not only was my cappuccino delicious, but the café itself is extremely cool and artsy (a classic great spot for a bathroom selfie ;)). When the weather is nice, you can sit outside in the adjoining space, which also doubles as a record shop!

🕺🏻 If your feet can’t stop (won’t stop) moving like Michael Jackson: Disclosure is coming to The Salt Shed for a solid night of house and electronic music. Known for tracks that are easy to get into and hard to stand still to, the UK duo mixes older hits with newer releases in a set that keeps the energy steady from start to finish. It’s a good pick if you just want to be out, listen to something familiar, and stay on the dance floor for a while. Click here for more info!
🎤 If live music is your vibe: On Thursday March 7th Mac DeMarco is playing at The Salt Shed with Mock Media. Known for his laid-back sound and slightly offbeat charm, Mac DeMarco’s shows feel easy and unpolished in the best way—guitars, mellow vocals, and songs that drift between indie rock and soft psychedelia. It’s the kind of concert where you can either zone out or sing along, depending on your mood, and just enjoy being there without overthinking it. Click here for tickets!
🛋️ If the couch (or the armchair) is calling your name: Last week we went to see Michael and we’re honestly still thinking about it. What stayed with us the most was Jaafar Jackson’s performance—yes, his nephew—which felt kind of unreal at times. The voice, the presence, the small details… it was all so close to Michael Jackson that it caught us off guard. If you’ve ever been a fan, we’d really suggest going to see it—and maybe getting ready for part two, expected in 2028.
🎭 If you feel artsy: On view at the Art Institute of Chicago, Korean National Treasures: 2,000 Years of Art brings together a wide range of works that trace the evolution of Korean art across centuries. The exhibition features around 140 pieces, from ceramics and Buddhist sculptures to paintings and everyday objects. Click here for more info!
