It’s June, and we’re so ready to sweat it out!
We’ve had enough of the chilly winds — bring on the sunshine! Our June calendar is out, and we hope to see you at our monthly events. Weekends are filling up fast with tons of things to do, but as always, we’ve done the work for you and picked out the best of the best — so you don’t have to search around. Check out what’s happening, and we hope to see you there!

Find the coolest picks for Chicago, this week:

• 🤤 If you are craving something new: Last Friday, we visited Fire, a restaurant by the Alinea group in the West Loop. The experience was excellent, with top-notch service and a menu that strikes a perfect balance between creativity and comfort, all while staying true to its fiery theme. Every dish had a connection to the element of fire—whether it was smoky undertones, charred textures, or the presence of logs and stones, each plate brought the theme to life in a unique way.

  For what you get, the prices are surprisingly reasonable—definitely a standout in Chicago’s dining scene. Our favorite dish was the slow-stewed beef, cooked to perfection with deep, rich flavors that felt as if they were kissed by fire, embodying the essence of slow, smoky heat. For dessert, we had an ice cream with hazelnut mole, drizzled with maple syrup. Highly suggested for a special occasion!

  

• 🕺🏻 If your feet can’t stop (won’t stop) moving like Michael Jackson: This Saturday, June 7th, we’re heading to the House Calls party. Oden & Fatzo are headlining, with Monty Kiddo and Tommaso on the bill too. It’s at a secret location (TBA), but if their past parties are anything to go by, expect deep grooves, solid energy, and a dancefloor that doesn’t quit. Tickets are on Dice—don’t sleep and click here to listen to our favorite song from them!

• 🎤 If live music is your vibe: This Sunday, June 8th, Silas Short is playing at Schubas Tavern. His mix of soul, R&B, and raw, personal songwriting hits just right in a room like Schubas—intimate, warm, and built for real listening. We love his last album and can’t recommend just one song.
  Doors at 7:30, show at 8. Tickets are still up, don’t miss it.

• 🛋️ If the couch is calling your name: We just finished watching Good American Family on Hulu and OMG – what a story! This limited drama series is based on the real-life case of Kristine (Ellen Pompeo) and Michael Barnett (Mark Duplass), who adopt Natalia Grace (Imogen Faith Reid), a child with dwarfism. Things take a dark turn when the Barnetts start claiming Natalia isn’t really a child but an adult posing as one—and use that claim to justify abandoning her. It’s unsettling, wild, and totally gripping from start to finish. If you're into true crime meets psychological drama, this one’s a must-watch.

• 🎭 If you feel artsy: This Friday, June 6th, the Wicker Park Bucktown neighborhood comes alive with the monthly First Fridays Art Walk. From 6–8 PM, explore a curated selection of local galleries, pop-ups, and creative spaces, all offering free admission. Participating venues include Jackson Junge Gallery, Tom Robinson Gallery, SoNa Contemporary Art, Torque Ltd., and Prism Spaces, among others. At the Chamber’s offices, Pritzker Elementary students will showcase their artwork as part of this year's “Student Series” addition.
